Well Srig this looks like it will be a great place to talk about and learn about training our dogs of all sorts when it gets off the ground. Let me help get things going. the names [Mike ] a.k.a. [suddenthunder] I don't compete my dogs just use then as friends and retrievers . Waterfowl mostly and some upland . Buddy the wonder dog is my 4yr old black male lab who cant retrieve enough waterfowl to please himself .I cant say enough about him to describe his willingness to please in the field. My other dog is somewhat new to me and working out is[ Miss April may ].She is a 6 mth old yellow pointing lab from tiger mountain hunter the second and she has more will to please than any of my other dogs in the past . She will be in my mind a great field dog and waterfowl dog when she comes into her own. I look forward to learning from you and other on this form in the very near future. Please keep this form growing so we all can learn and prosper THANKS suddenthunder

Hi all, I agree, looks like this could be a great site. My name is Bill, I have a 1 yr old ylf that is a retrieving nut so far. Due to an accident last year I decided to stop her training till now. She got her collar hung on a broken chair in my garage and when I tried to get her free she kept twisting and twisted my fingers up in her collar. I finally got her loose but she was grunting so I took her to the Vet and she spent 5 days there. I used to be one of those people that thought a dog was just a dog, but now that I have "Birdy" I now understand why people can spend thousands of dollars on their dogs. She is my first dog and is as much a part of my family as my wife is.I think I was driving the vet crazy calling every few hours to check on her. She is now great at sit, here, heal and working on whistle sit. She is returning to hand almost every time. I have been using the Fowl Dawgs 1, and so far so good. Sorry to go on and on just setting the stage for future questions.Again looks like a great new site.

here is a story of a dog that wasnt just another dog.

Gun dogs, especially the great ones, soon become more than just a dog. If this is your 1st dog you will have an amazing journey learning how these animals become more than just ordinary dogs.

Well, this is a good place for my Labrador Retriever. I'm actually planning next week to go in that place. I'm sure everything will be full of fun and joy.
